Day 6: The Cross

On this 6th day of Christ’s Passion Week we pause at the cross (Mark 15:21-32) – at the very instrument that is used to kill, and yet we aren’t going to his death. Pausing at the cross, seeing the pain and abuse and excrutiatingly painful experiences Christ had, is important to undertand and dwell upon because it brings his grace to light that much more.

I’ve included, down below, the still-life depiction we have in the corner of our sanctuary that is meant to help us visualize the message. As you can see we have the cross, the crown, the nails and the red represents the poured out blood.

If you have not been following this Lenten series then I have included links to other podcasts and even a video (for day 1). I hope you take the time to listen to the other 6 days and walk through that final week as Mark reveals it to us. And I pray, throughout it all, that you come to see Jesus in his true light, his true passion, and why he came.

Day 1: (not my podcast – but you can find the video here as it was preached by Tyler Helfers, our Campus Ministry Director).
