Sunday has always been a “day of rest” growing up. A day that was “set apart” from all the rest of the days – there were things we could and could not do (for the most part – all though my parents weren’t too strict on it). Even today there are things we don’t want our own children to do on Sunday (like chores) – but is that what “Sabbath” was to be? It weighs heavy on us, cripples us and, in our relationship with God, it can tell us lies that we have done something so bad that God has washed his hands of us.
